About

Curious by default

I love theoretical and abstract ideas, from psychology to economics, and I like turning them into something a team can use. I work remotely from Cullman, Alabama, and travel to Atlanta regularly. Yes, I’m a bit of a unicorn.

How I'm wired

High5 style mix: how my energy splits across thinking, doing, motivating and feeling.

What that means in practice

I’m deeply analytical and happiest with fewer, deeper conversations. I put effectiveness ahead of ceremony, and I’m adaptable about how we get there. On teams, I make up for the introvert in me with regular rhythms: weekly 1:1s, a business-alignment meeting, and a separate technical problem-solving session, plus the question “What’s fueling you?”

Outside work

Mountain biking and running

Regular exercise keeps me sharp, and I encourage my team to make time for it too.

Snowboarding and kayaking

Even Alabama snow days count. I once snowboarded a Cullman hillside until my phone died.

Gadgets and good ideas

An early Kickstarter-browsing type. I love a clever product, and a clever spreadsheet.

Economics, psychology, abstract ideas

Happy to talk automation, labor markets, or why people behave the way they do.

Reading

Atomic Habits, The Let Them Theory, 48 Laws of Power. I bring the good ones to team meetings.

Faith and service

Former Chairman of Deacons at Northbrook Church. Values: simplicity, generosity, showing up.
